What is Superfetch and how it will be closed

If you are using Windows 10, the Windows operating system automatically turns Superfetch off or on according to the speed of the current hardware. You do not have to deal with it. If you like control, you can turn off Superfetch by following the steps below.


If you are foreign to the topic you can say “What is Superfetch”. In a nutshell, Windows takes the files you use most often into RAM and brings it to you faster by bringing it from RAM before from HDD/SDD when you want it.

Services Console

We can turn off the SuperFetch option by selecting Start> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services> “Superfetch Properties”> Disable Startup type in the General tab.

Make a value of 0 in the Enable SuperFetch key in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters.
